i'll just leave this here.

there is nothing i love more
than a perfectly worded meme.

happy birthday,
 harry.

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

you probably think this post is about you.

and it totally is.
and by you i mean me.
here are my favorite posts
i have ever written.

my dad doesn't think i'm funny.

an analysis of emma watson's relationship
with the harry potter's top three pretty boys.

scratched retinas,
google images,
and the reason i swore to never get them again.

i'm quite positive this is when i fell in love.
i wouldn't admit it to myself.
i couldn't.
but my heart knew.
i was a goner.

because this was the morning after i realized
all i wanted in life was to be with cory forever.
new york didn't matter.
national geographic didn't matter.
fame didn't matter.
all that mattered was that he would be
by my side all the time no matter what.

the most magical display of fourth of july fireworks
i have ever witnessed.

my plea to get him back.
i will never stop missing him.

i'm still not over it.

because i have really good ideas
when i'm on my death bed.

i'm a sap.

overkill. i know.
cory just told me i was dumb.
"you really think people are going to go back
and reread all your posts?
how many times have you read harry potter?"
SORRY I'M NOT SORRY.

last night i had two very real dreams.

|||dream one|||
rev run was a jewish rabbi.
his entire family and congregation converted to judaism as well.
it was the first time in my life,
dream or real,
that i heard a jewish gospel choir.
they were amazing.

|||dream two|||
i had to get to diagon alley but mad eye was too drunk
to help get me there.
my sister and i stepped outside and even though i was nervous,
i cast a spell that would protect us on our journey
and once we got there.
after getting to some strange dream diagon alley that wasn't really diagon alley,
khyrie said, "why were you nervous?
looks like sooomebody aced advanced spellcasting."

|||real life|||
i woke up and told cory both dreams.
i was so proud about casting my spell completely off the cuff.
i'm not trying to be dramatic,
but it was poetic and kind of amazing.
he hugged me and said,
"i'm so proud of you. you're my little witch."
and then i thought,
"yer a wi[tch], brissa."
and my heart smiled.

since i have the evidence.

the day before my birthday
was spent eating the biggest, most delicious scones
and cross fitting like woah in a public park
with the original flamingo stripper herself.
aka: shay.
there are just a few things i'd like to clear up
for those of you who think you know shay.

 she is not a giant.
in fact, she's not even close to being one.
she gives the most awkward hugs.
and when i say awkward, i mean it.
we're talking more awkward than the
voldy + draco hug in hp.vii.pt.ii.
ducks are included in her bird-phobia.
yeah, it's real.
she froze in place when we came across a colony of them
and i was laughing too hard to take a picture.
she will pressure you into being a stripper.
don't be afraid to say no.
her recap of the day is better/more accurate
than this mumbo jumbo.
but we both agreed on one thing,
our little friendship fits.
it works.
and the fact that we both like to talk, listen and be stupid in public
doesn't hurt it one bit.
oh, and she got a video of my voice
doing what it does best.
criticizing pda.
[public displays of "art." obviously.]

"i was trying to relate to you."

bless his heart for trying.

the next day i wore my
and he told me he loves me
like ron loves hermione.

i don't know why he didn't pick them
in the first place.
i obviously have a thing for gingers.

attn: nurse

how dare you
cast a spell on this girl
and try to make her forget she's a wizard.
a wizard never forgets!
hide yo' kids. hide ho' boo.
we gon' grab our lightsabers and find you.

and crystle,
 thank you.
a thousand times.

today is thursday

last night during a telephone conversation,
i planned my outfit for today.
it was decided i would wear the following:
 my "save ginny weasley" shirt,
black cardigan and leopard flats.
{please note, since their purchase last saturday, i have worn these flats frice.
is frice a word? like thrice but better? what would be the "four" version of thrice?}
in order to maintain a false air of professionalism,
i have to wear my cowl to cover the graphic at work.
the wearing of my cowl has resulted in
 more cubicle ninja pictures.
i'm just waiting for someone to tell me
there's something on my head.
cain't nobody tell me to be professional!

in other news,
andrea was gracious enough
to let me take over her corner of the interwebz today.
check it out and please remember,
indecisiveness is not skankiness.

countdown to sanity.

one paper.
one final.
one write up.
then i can paint my nails,
drink candy cane hot chocolate,
and catch up on thursday night television.
but for now there's going to be a lot of this:
 study and cry.
study and die.

fact: everything good on facebook surfaces during finals week.
hollerrr.

in other news...

this is my first time participating in
i honestly have no idea what took me so long.

is anyone else freaking out
about pottermore?
every time i go to answer a clue
i find all the spaces have been filled.
dang those cyborgs who spend all their time online.
dang them!!

in just three short days,
my favorite "italians"
will be back with new
phrases, grenades and drama.

and finally,
yesterday i took my talons off.
after two hours of soaking, filing and wiping,
i was finally free.

oh, and while i took the white-tipped devils off,
and loved every minute of it.
new dream:
work for vogue and make the devil wears prada my reality.

i grew up on hogwarts.nu

please,
love this as much as i do.

and if you're bored
or simply curious,
check out the inspiration.
it's pretty amazing.

emily deserves a life-time supply
of frozen-yogurt for sending this gold my way
as well as for introducing me to
the best website ever.
trust me.
it is.

finding out snape has a twitter made my day.
mostly because i stumbled upon this.

harry potter hangover.

7:27 was the beginning of the end.
before we left, we got our ink on.
i endured a fair amount of teasing
after telling them i hadn't taken off the plastic liner the first time i tried.
{yes, i read skimmed the instructions, and yes, that part was in bold...}
round two proved to be successful and off we went.
after filling up with gas, buying two boxes of mike and ike's
water bottles and chips and salsa{?} at the gas station,
we headed to walgreens to redbox deathly hallows part one.
while there we added starburst and red vines to our contraband candy.
we were finally ready to go.
lined up outside the theater, we saw them.
waiting.
robes, glasses, wands, dark marks and ties.
gryffindor's, hufflepuff's, slytherin's and ravenclaw's.
 bellatrix's, weasley's, harry's and muggles.
we didn't have access to fish and chips,
so we settled on five guys instead.
some high school boys got really excited when they saw our tattoos
and we started chatting about the movie.
where they were going to see it, if they were dressing up, who they would be.
the one with curly blonde hair said he wanted to make a wand
out of a drumstick but didn't have time.
i looked at my watch, said it was still early
told him to get whittling.
he did.
they asked to take a picture of my dark mark
and we gave him our last extra.
as we walked back to the car dan said,
"did you see that big man with the tattoos in there?
when i was in line he looked at me and said,
'it's so good. the end is so emotional.'
harry potter brings people together.
i wouldn't have talked to half of the people in there
if it weren't for harry potter."
and i knew he was right.
as soon as i laid out the blanket, my lemonade spilled all over.
it spread across the asphalt and soaked the corners and middle.
i had to hang it on an orange post and caution tape in order to dry it.
we sat. we ate. we discussed. we people watched.
there was a girl who tried to do a back bend in line and almost fell.
wtffffff?
after dinner the boys went to throw away the trash and grab the laptop.
we huddled around the laptop and watched as part one unfolded.
not having headphones meant not being able to hear.
then i suggested we turn on the subtitles.
about half-way through, beth came.
by this point, the line was constantly being scooted up {for no reason}
so we decided to stand and watch.
it killed my neck but it was worth every minute.
i regret not taking many pictures.
i feel like such a momentous occasion should have been documented better.
but, this is the shirt i wore.
please note, this photograph is not my shirt.
{mine would never be that wrinkled}.
i had to borrow it because i didn't get a good picture of me in mine.
too excited to pose.
you know how it goes.
i bawled.
at least four times.
as we drove home,
we talked about being able to share the story with our children.
it reminded me of what ayley said and i smiled.
the magic will never die.
it will live within us forever.

t-minus 5:04:13

that's it.
i'm done.
it's time.
excuse me while i cry.

t-minus 8:47:03

i realize it's been a lot.
perhaps too much,
especially on the day the whole world is posting about this,
but i can't not.
sure, i could have summed it up in one post,
but that would have been too easy
and i kept finding things i wanted to share.
let's be honest,
there's enough stuff floating around the interweb
i could blog about harry potter for the rest of my life and not repeat anything.

whether you've only seen the movies,
 read the books once,
read the books hundreds of times,
or refuse to see/hate the movies,
harry potter has been a part of your life.

 i'm not trying being dramatic,
but i can't help but feel my childhood officially ending.
the waiting is done.
the end is here.
today it's over.

t-minus 9:59:59

if only they'd picked a better picture to put on this shirt.
guess i'll just have to make my own.
wicka whhhat?!
{via}

t-minus 10:40:27

[tom]
his american is too good. i think he's faking the british.
[matt]
he did better than i thought he would.
[rupert]
ooooh rupert, bless his little ginger heart, he tried so hard.

"i'll bring the brrrrrrreewwww..."

if you felt out of the loop when they mentioned part one,
watch this and get in the loop.

t-minus 12:37:15

it would be a sin if i did not include this video.
it's one of my favorites.
sometimes i do the "harry potter freak out" dance
at parties, or in my room
you should give it a go.
it's a move everyone should have in their repertoire.

t-minus 13:59:09

i know he's gone, but it's still sad.
any time i see anything regarding sirius,
i think of this song.
and how when they started playing at the concert
everyone was silent for the beginning
and just listened.

"there's one thing that i've got,
one thing that you've got inside you too,
one thing that we've got.
and the one thing we've got is enough to save us all.
the weapon we have is love."
