in the arms of the angels.

i had a dream
 there were two baby hippos
in my apartment.
my dad told me i could shrink them using a magic remote.
i found one and shrunk him a bit
and went to find his brother.

he was going crazy in the living room.
uncontrollably shaking his head, making baby hippo noises,
gnashing his weird hippo teeth.
the kid was completely bonkers.
i tried to shrink him but was unsuccessful.
i went back to talk to everyone hiding out in the room
to formulate a plan to get him to stand still long enough
so we could shrink him.
bungee cords? drugs? an ambush?

he must have known my plan and followed me
to the back room
because the next thing i knew,
that freaking hippo baby bit my butt.

that's how i woke up.
a hippo baby bit my butt.

i just...can't...

last night i had a dream.
it was

downton abbey
+
revolution.

i can't even begin to explain.

just know that lady grantham's bathroom has electricity,
lord grantham fed us all
hot fudge sundaes for dinner.
and our "special visitor" is probably an undercover militia.

please note,
i haven't seen either of these shows
in months.
m o n t h s.
...yeah...

last night i had two very real dreams.

|||dream one|||
rev run was a jewish rabbi.
his entire family and congregation converted to judaism as well.
it was the first time in my life,
dream or real,
that i heard a jewish gospel choir.
they were amazing.

|||dream two|||
i had to get to diagon alley but mad eye was too drunk
to help get me there.
my sister and i stepped outside and even though i was nervous,
i cast a spell that would protect us on our journey
and once we got there.
after getting to some strange dream diagon alley that wasn't really diagon alley,
khyrie said, "why were you nervous?
looks like sooomebody aced advanced spellcasting."

|||real life|||
i woke up and told cory both dreams.
i was so proud about casting my spell completely off the cuff.
i'm not trying to be dramatic,
but it was poetic and kind of amazing.
he hugged me and said,
"i'm so proud of you. you're my little witch."
and then i thought,
"yer a wi[tch], brissa."
and my heart smiled.

this is the beginning of the end.

last night i had a dream.
it was so real.
when it started,
i was in an apartment with kids i didn't know.
when i say kids, i mean kids.
like junior high age.
they kept showing up.

my house was a safe house.
outside was dangerous.
outside was bad.
no one said anything,
but i knew that outside my four walls,
the zombie apocalypse was beginning.

there were suddenly reporters
wanting to take pictures and interview us
because apparently my safe house was a "hot story"
and people were still reading newspapers.
yeah...right...not if an apocalypse is looming..
the kids spoke to the reporters
through my front window.
i stayed back, preparing.
all i can remember packing
were clothes, my iphone, and water bottle.

i looked out the back window
to guess how big of  a jump it would be.
there were people everywhere.
they were all staring up to my apartment window.
i had no idea why everyone was so interested in us,
but i knew they wanted us
and i knew if they got hold of us,
we'd be doomed.

at one point, i remember frantically searching
for the phone charger and robitussin i hid earlier
"just in case."
i was determined to find that robitussin.
i couldn't leave without it.

suddenly, we were in my childhood home.
my mom was there,
telling me to forgot about the robitussin
and pleading with me to be safe.
i told the kids to wait until i called them.
i was going to ride my bike
until i found somewhere safe.

the reporters were still there.
they wanted to come in.
something was about to happen.
i could feel it in my heart.
something big.
something that would change the world forever.

and then i woke up.

i woke up and it still felt real.
when i left my apartment i was carrying
my laundry basket, overnight bag, backpack, and purse.
all i could think was,
"how am i going to be able to protect myself
when the zombies come at me out there?"

this is not a joke.

my heart sped up as i waited for the elevator.
i made sure it was empty before stepping in.
my heart nearly stopped when the elevator
reached the parking garage.

what if they were waiting for me because they could hear
the beeps from the elevator?
how was i going to fight them?
how was i going to explain this to my mom?

*ping*
the doors opened.
nothing happened.
no zombies.
no reporters.
no junior high kids seeking refuge.
as i loaded my car,
i kept looking behind my shoulder
because you never know.

it's been nearly thirty minutes since i entered reality
and my heart is still beating fast.
it was so real.
it's coming.
are you ready?

this is how we do it*

my little sister and i may or may not have
spent two hours looking up possible
audition songs for me to
use when applying
for the voice.
#obsessed.

*please note: while the title i used is a classic, it is not one of our options.

the fates are laughing at my lack of funds.

i need to find a way to get

as soon as possible.

it's beautiful.
absolutely beautiful.

sunday i got the following text...

i had a dream that we were trying to kill these zombies
but they came in one at a time.
so there was this little kid zombie i tried to kill but he still lived.
so then we were passing him around trying to kill him.
he just wouldn't die!
it came back to me so i was trying to find his pressure point to stab him.
i finally found it.
it was around his neck so i stabbed him with a pen and then he FINALLY died.
there were still more to kill so we killed them.
bubba im pretty sure it's a sign.
one, i need to read a lot more in my zombie survival guide
otherwise i'm not going to survive.
and two, you never will know when the zombie apocalypse is going to come
so you ALWAYS need to be ready.
remember always have some sort of weapon on you at all times.
when i'm done reading the zombie survival guide
i will give it to you so you can read it.
i have highlighted some key facts in it that you will need to know.

and yes, she's dead serious.

brown on brown.

i love/hate it when my friends have get some dreams for me.
hate it because...
a. it's a dream and not real life
b. it's not my dream.
love it because...
a. i get freaked out texts from a scarred bethie
b. it makes her feel uncomfortable when i talk about my skillz.
c. her saying,  "it was GROSS. i really don't ever want to see you make out.
even in a dream," was one of the best texts of the day.

take today and make it yours.

on saturday i got to interview the writer, producer and director for byu's latest animated film.
i interviewed him and two others who helped on the film.
i wish i could have written a long feature piece on them.
{being limited to 15 inches can sometimes suck.}
i got to watch the film and was amazed.
after interviewing the boys for 40 minutes,
hearing them talk about 2-D and 3-D
{2-D like the little mermaid and 3-D like toy story}
and spit out words like 'tradigital
it was like magic being able to see the words they were saying come to life in the film.
as i walked to my car and drove home i thought to myself,
"oh. my. gosh. i just interviewed someone who is going to be somebody someday."
not even kidding.
those boys are already pioneering new techniques.
they are the ones who are going to make the movies my kids watch.

it is what we do with the here and now that decides what we do later in life.
like woah.

my legs are cold.

my last postita about perfume shopping with my daddy made me think of a few things.
1. i want him to teach my future husband how to buy the following:
a. perfume
b. purses
c. jewelry
not joking kids, my dad is good as gold when it comes to that stuff.
he is proud when his "g" comes out.
and
2. when i went to new york the december of my sophomore year in high school
it was just daddy and me.
new york city in december quickly became my favorite.
i loved that no one ever slept.
i loved that daddy took me to saks fifth avenue
to perfume shop for mommy.
the light show that goes with these flakes was phenomenal.
i felt like such an adult.
alternating my sniffs between burberry, chanel, bulgari and coffee beans.
giving my opinion to the sales rep and my dad like i was some fancy pants.
i loved it when i was allowed to go explore the store.
i found the perfect shade of bright pink lip gloss
and coveted the scarves and clothes.
i was in heaven.
but my favorite part had to have been the tree.
it's really something you need to see to believe,
but trust me,
it's incredible.
jaw-dropping.
open-mouth drooling.
and word stopping.

for the kids...

remember that one post i had about a teepee?
and how it was soo cool and how my kids would love me for it.
and how we'd have family pow-wows in it?
well i just made an executive decision that my
future family is just going to have to deal with.
don't worry, they'll love me for it.
our backyard is officially going to be the coolest
because of the following:

{sprial staircase + tree house = the shizz}
{tent}
{tea parties}

i can't wait to be a homeowner.

4125

i met with my creative writing professor today.
we talked about my personal essay.
he spoke to me about its levels and complex nature.
i felt kind of cool.
because i realized i was a real-life college kid
in a real-life college professor's office
having a discussion.
it's kind of neat to have someone who's had stories and books published
tell me my writing is good.
to have them open up new ideas and views
and approaches to my paper.
i love personal essays.
i also love creative non-fiction.
and i love how he said that's what national geographic is.
my dreams aren't small.

i had a dream

last night i had a dream about my favorite place:
in my dream i won the jackpot on my first try.
that's right.
137 tickets.
but my luck didn't stop there.
i dominated every game i tried.
it was truly magical.
i was able to get my bling and other prizes.
my friends were green with jealous rage.
but i couldn't help it.
when you got it, you got it.

sidenote: ever since i saw inception i've been remembering all my dreams.  it's incredible.

sweet dreams

this is all i want this summer.
to travel to unknown locations.
travel without a care in the world.
make new discoveries.
meet new people.
live.

in my future home, there will be a spiral staircase.
they have fascinated me ever since i can remember.
i love them.
i just can't stop staring at this one.

neglect.

please forgive me.
i never realized i hadn't properly introduced you to my dream.
i want to move.
break through this bubble and explore the world.
it's on my list of dreams to own a vw bus.
i will live in said bus.
on the beach.
in california.
i will make little things and sell them.
people will buy them.
i will make friends with everyone i meet.
i want this to happen now.
just quit everything and go.
who says i need a piece of paper to go far?
not me.
no way.
stupid education.

dream big.

I'm tired.
I'm acting tomorrow.
That makes me happy.
I miss it.
I love it.
I will update you tomorrow.
But I can promise you, my passion for acting will be reignited.
That always happens.
I don't act for a while then as soon as I do I want to drop everything and runaway to California.
So I might as well go pack my bags right now.

I don't usually tell people this, but....I want to be apart of this.
Somedays I actually think I can make it.
