"YOU KNOW ME."

words will never be able to fully express
just how much i love amy poehler.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE ACTUALLY SAID
THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO SING WITH AMY!!!
!!!a pox upon their houses!!!

in a perfect world, i would be her second best friend.
second best because no one will ever/should ever replace tina fey.
no one. ever.
not even ann perkins.
and finally, on a semi-unrelated note,
whenever i see will arnett on that silly best buy commercial,
my heart breaks for their broken love all over again.

now, let us all sing praises to shay
for finding and originally posting this gem.

so many nuggets.

i can't get over how much i love this video.
i just can't.
i probably shouldn't be posting it,
but i don't even care.
deal with it, internet.

friday night was awful.
i bawled all day and most of the night.
cory used his powers,
discovered what i wanted/needed
and we got chick-fil-a for dinner.
but before i could fill my veins
with chick-fil-a sauce,
we went to target for some dayquil.
 on our way out,
homeboy sang the brothers gibb as best he could,
whispered all kinds of inappropriate things
and squeezed my butt one too many times.
i'm being completely honest
when i say this is how most of our outings go.
and carla,
that sex nuggets reference is all your fault.
these twelve lays are getting out of control.
i hope you're happy.
because he definitely is.
ay-oooooh.

in other (more appropriate news)...
i'm excited for christmas.
christmas and django.
also,
the iphone skinny video format
is killing me.

haters beware.

you know the phrase that mentions
something about a watched pot not being able to boil?
i have come here to tell you
there is truth in this phrase.
so.much.truth.

for the past week/week-and-a-half
{let's be honest, since halloween ended}
i've been obsessively changing
my radio stations between
106.5,
100.3, and
89.1
in hopes of hearing christmas music.
it was like russian roulette
but the bullet of joy and happiness
never fired.

after making homemade pasta
in my cooking class last friday,
i got in my car
and expected to hear i'm ready, i am
blasting through the speakers.
imagine my surprise
when my eardrums were blessed
with this glorious gift.
it truly was a christmas miracle.
don't believe me?
allow me to hit you with some facts.
uno.
i was expecting the format to play
because i was listening to my cd, not the radio.
santa changed my three option-stereo
to the right station at the right time.
dos.
this is one of my favorite christmas songs.
it's the children. they get me every time.
tres.
the moment i gave up obsessing
over christmas music on the radio
is the exact moment it appeared.
magick*.

i rolled down my windows
and blasted my happy music
as i cruised out of the parking lot.
i basked in the strange looks
and plugged ears due
to my happy, loud, and off-key singing.

i love this season.
please note:
in my mind, "this season"
means thanksgiving and christmas.
i like to combine them
and feel two whole months
of gratitude, happiness
and love.

*magick is making a comeback.
watch it happen.

happy halloween hangover.

unfortunately,
i didn't consume enough candy yesterday
to have a halloween hangover today.
i usually aim to crash like this at some point during the holiday,
but that's not the case this year.
so to all you recovering sugar crash victims,
well done.

instead of candy
i ate pumpkin pancakes
at a pumpkin pancake party.

while there, i learned a few things
i'd like to share with you.

 never talk bump-its.
i guarantee the conversation will take a turn for the worst.

there is no such thing as a wishy-washy lost-ite.
you either love it or you hate it.

parks and rec brings people together.
i blame leslie knope's sparkling personality
and tom haverford's lavish lifestyle.

cool whip on pancakes is the greatest combination ever.
i am kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

and finally,
nightmare before christmas is not a halloween movie
it's a christmas movie.
jack the pumpkin king makes me want a door to christmasland.

uno.dos.tres.

christmas eve i got to spend some quality time
with two of my sisters from the same misters.
these ones.
while blondie helped madre with the dishes,
krizzle and i had what you might call a
crappy.webcam.photo.sesh.
das.wassup.
then mamacita ordered ashley to get in on the fun.
so we had a dance party.
sans-musica.
mom, james and dad called us weird.
so we decided to move our shoot to a more holiday appropriate location.
in front of the tree.
oh how i love these ladies.

atta boy clarence.

every year we watch this film.
and every year i cry.
i hope you enjoyed your holiday season and spent time with those you love.

p.s. isn't that jimmy stewart a fox?!

happy christmas hangover.

hope you all had a stachtastic christmas.
now go and enjoy your christmas hangover*.

*the hangover is a porter-created holiday after each big holiday (i.e. birthdays, thanksgiving, christmas, kwanzaa, etc.) in order prolong the celebration and milk it for as long as possible.
[example]
mother: brissa, go do the dishes.
brissa: but mom! it's my birthay hangover.
siblings: yeah, it's her hangover, she doesn't have to.
it's glorious.

happy christmas harry.

happy christmas ron.

feliz navidad children.

or in the words of my father:
"felix nativity."

xoxo.
brizzle

my legs are cold.

my last postita about perfume shopping with my daddy made me think of a few things.
1. i want him to teach my future husband how to buy the following:
a. perfume
b. purses
c. jewelry
not joking kids, my dad is good as gold when it comes to that stuff.
he is proud when his "g" comes out.
and
2. when i went to new york the december of my sophomore year in high school
it was just daddy and me.
new york city in december quickly became my favorite.
i loved that no one ever slept.
i loved that daddy took me to saks fifth avenue
to perfume shop for mommy.
the light show that goes with these flakes was phenomenal.
i felt like such an adult.
alternating my sniffs between burberry, chanel, bulgari and coffee beans.
giving my opinion to the sales rep and my dad like i was some fancy pants.
i loved it when i was allowed to go explore the store.
i found the perfect shade of bright pink lip gloss
and coveted the scarves and clothes.
i was in heaven.
but my favorite part had to have been the tree.
it's really something you need to see to believe,
but trust me,
it's incredible.
jaw-dropping.
open-mouth drooling.
and word stopping.

eyez juss whanuh goez b@k.

double layer fleece blanket.

after taking three finals in one day,
being stuck in traffic for a lot longer that i'd have liked
and not getting more than eight hours of sleep in a 72-hour period,
i'm home.
i'm home and i'm happy.
right now i'm lying in my bed in my mami's study.
i lost my room four years ago to my baby sister.
my national geographic cut-outs and dream collages
have been replaced with jonas brothers posters and rough pencil drawings.
i can hear mom and dad downstairs
speaking spanglish and preparing for our family christmas party.
yesterday i woke up at 11:39 to two tragic text messages
about the provo tabernacle.
i ate lucky charms for breakfast and spent the entire day,
well, until 3:17,
sitting on the couch with my mom.
we each had our own fleece blanket and couch.
we just sat there,
looked at each other and talked.
it was golden.
i miss my mommy talks.
she's kiiind of my best friend.
i miss her when i'm gone.
but now i'm home
and it's good.

zomg! u luk lyke krizmuss!!1!1!!11

today at work i was told i looked like christmas...
{what the what?!}
i should feel honored to have supposedly embodied such a joyous holiday as christmas
but the only "festive" thing on my body was a red shirt.
so instead of feeling warm and happy like a wee babe wrapped in a snuggie
i just felt like a poser.
had i been dressed like this,
i think their comment would have been more appropriate and deserved.
i'm just sayin...

You had a Merry Christmas.
I know I did.
Surrounded by family and friends.
This past week has been wonderful.

Simply wonderful.
