cotton candy carnival

honestly,
who other than a maaahm would post a billion thousand pictures
of their ten month old eating cotton candy in a cow costume?
i never thought i'd be that person
but i totally am.
and if you think the cow-spam is over,
you're kidding yourself.
i've got loads more from the local elementary's carnival
and our ward's trunk or treat
and i'm sure i'll have an obscene amount after tonight's festivities.
aaaannd i still have to have a cow photo shoot with her.
YOU GUYS.
even if you tell yourself you'll never do all those
"omg i'm a mom" things with your kids,
you totally will
and it will be totally awesome.

happy halloween!
and weekend!
and almost november!
which means almost christmas!
CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

and now for a game of "who wore it best?"

kim + baby north vs. brissa + baby murph*
for those wondering,
kim's "sweater around the bum" technique
does wonders for keeping a rump nice and toasty
during a cold evening of trick-or-treating.
author's note:
if you plan on dressing up as post-workout kim,
make sure it's around people who understand.
if not, you'll most likely get confused with a homeless girl
wearing a ridiculous amount of eye makeup.

*no. my baby's name is not murph.

currently

sitting at my kitchen table,
 eating a vanilla pudding cup,
and wishing i had a tight black and white dress
so i can dress up as my favorite
pregnant kim k. for the night.

you'd think with everything fitting so snug
on this pregnant body,
finding a black dress in my closet
would be a breeze.
it's not.
i don't even like pudding cups.

first world problems.
am i right?
i am open to any and all
pregnant costume suggestions
that don't involve juno,
turning my belly into an oven with a bun inside,
or dressing up as a giant can of prego pasta sauce.

fun fact:
i absolutely hate the word prego
when referring to a pregnant woman.
always have.
always will.

 happy halloween.
texas forever.

i would have just stopped eating.

highlights:

"i threw up."
"you threw up? okay."

"it tastes like poopy piƱata."

and all their faces.

i'm surprised they kept eating.
it's like they somehow thought the "healthy candy"
was going to magically get better.
i'm pretty sure that "nory pop" was just a prune with a stick.
their poor little digestive systems.
oh, to be young again.

shout out to anna for originally posting this gold.

happy halloween hangover.

unfortunately,
i didn't consume enough candy yesterday
to have a halloween hangover today.
i usually aim to crash like this at some point during the holiday,
but that's not the case this year.
so to all you recovering sugar crash victims,
well done.

instead of candy
i ate pumpkin pancakes
at a pumpkin pancake party.

while there, i learned a few things
i'd like to share with you.

 never talk bump-its.
i guarantee the conversation will take a turn for the worst.

there is no such thing as a wishy-washy lost-ite.
you either love it or you hate it.

parks and rec brings people together.
i blame leslie knope's sparkling personality
and tom haverford's lavish lifestyle.

cool whip on pancakes is the greatest combination ever.
i am kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

and finally,
nightmare before christmas is not a halloween movie
it's a christmas movie.
jack the pumpkin king makes me want a door to christmasland.

holla acha guurl!

halloween weekend was the best.weekend.ever.
friday we caught the seven o'clock showing of inception.
so good.
we dropped the boys off and hit up a dance party.
golden.
the rest of the night happened so quickly:
chicken wraps. climbing on the cougar. driving across. driving down.
duck pond. blasting weezy & lauren's ke$ha station on pandora.
went to bed at three.
saturday. woke up at one thirty. {jealous?}
did laundry. painted nails. got jerseylicious.
that's right, i dressed up as my bff snooki polizzi.
went to go visit my boys at the riv for a bit.
they made me feel famous.
then met up with the wolf-pack for dance party numero dos.
 redbrickhouse is where it's aaaat.
sidenote: 1/2 a giant nos + redbull < an hour is not recommended for your heart
but roooocks for dance parties.
spotted: all four teletubbies, avatars, carebears, polygamist wives, molestor, twitter.
the music was thumpin and the party was bumpin.
after-party. convinced the boys into going to ihop with us.
convincing = being caught in a human trap and promising unlimited back scratches.
despite their faces in the above pictures {especially al's} they had fun.
mack was our waiter again.
i loooove that angry britt.
we saw, met, fell in love and took a picture with rufioooo!
i ate the scrambled eggs i'd been craving for days.
drive through and down. again.  so freaking legit!
after the after party. hopped the fence to go hot-tubbing.
decided what to wear for sunday. talked. played a game on my phone.
my brain got a little fuzzy around four in the morning.
i remember i fell asleep for an hour and a half or two hours
before getting ready for jamie's farewell.
sunday. 10:33 am: on the road home for the farewell.
freshly brushed teeth + leftover nos = no bueno

neon fixes everything.

oh don't worry.
i found a solution to my problem.
when all else fails
go eighties.

in an effort to make me look classy meredith told me to cross my legs.
it just made me look like a one legged freak.
also, where on earth am i looking?
here is our attempted retake with two legs this time.
it's blurry because the children started pouring in and we had to play games.
but you get the basic idea.
the whole time my hair was up all i could think about was this song.
i love this video.
i give it a billion points for creativity and making me want to be their bff.

it's the great [stache]kin charlie brown!!

last night for fhe our group decided to carve pumpkins.
at first i was not excited.
as much as i love the smell of pumpkins,
i wasn't feeling the whole "blood and guts" part of it all.
but then i realized this would be the perfect opportunity
to let my creative juices flow.

the following is a list of my ideas that got rejected:
will smith's face.
voldemort.
a horcrux.
a unicorn.
a unicorn with flame coming out of it's mouth.
{to be "scary" for halloween}
the dark mark.
a patronus.

it wasn't until i said
"let's make a moustache!"
that the people were pleased.
so we set out to making the best [stache]kin ever.
i drew the staches and carved out the fu manchu.
we also decided the "stache tastic!" would make it look less nakey
so we threw that in too.
i've never been more eager to display a vegetable in front of my door.
seriously.
it was the proudest day of my life.
dear [stache]kin:
please don't die.
or rot.
or get moldy.
i wanna freeze you and keep you for ever and ever.
love always:
your momma
