last year sam and i 

rode our bikes to taco bell

for cheap, commercial mexican.

then we rode along the river trail and took

a little detour at a park where i played on swings 

and laughed at sam in his moment of illness and need.

after, i went to an awkward party

where they served fake margaritas along

with chips, dip and cookies. we played a game

but my hip thrusting was looked down upon. stupid zoobs.

this year, there's a party

at the north side of the complex

we're going to attend. let's hope my hip

thrusting is praised instead of judged and the tunes

they blast are good enough for me to shuffle, spongebob and bernie.

 

 el desperado circa 2009. cinco de marcho* party 

*everyone was leaving in may, so we had our cinco de mayo party in march. complete with a pinata, a swim in the mexican gulf {the best heated swimming pool ever} where we played games like mexicans vs. border patrol {very similar to cops and robbers} and finished the evening by watching the best quasi-mexi movie ever.

desperado. skype-town. puerto.

our little trip to the border started out in primm, nevada.

we stayed at buffalo bill's just so we could ride 

the seventh longest roller coaster in the

whole.wide.world.

jamie and i rode it four times in a row.

the best time by far was when i convinced ashley to come.

i wish i had taken my camera.

her face was priceless.

especially going down the first drop.

the next morning we drove down to long beach.

we got ready and hit the town.

the next morning we skyped with kay

and watched a game of "brutha ball" from our window.

next step. carnival splendor

our rooms were pretty nice and bigger than expected.

i texted paloozie and the dancing irishman 

and chatted to kay before we left port.

then it began.

i got a wee bit seasick once we started going

but that cleared up once i popped some pills. 

monday was fancy night.

we got all dressed up and headed to the black pearl.

that was the name of our dining room.

tuesday was fun day. 

ash and i layed by the pool on the lido deck.

we swam a bit.

browned a bit.

{well at least i did...}

ash got burned.

bad.

i felt awful.

poor thing had one half of her face beet red and the other white as a sheet.

wednesday we landed in puerto vallarta. 

we found a cheap taxi and went on a city tour.

it.was.gorgeous.

jamie taught mami how to strike a pose.

watch out world. my momma = america's next top model.

mexico has some really neat statues along the boardwalk.

jamie and i very much enjoyed being photographed with them.

mexicans are talented when it comes to sand creations.

ayy chihuahua!!

so i have this baby brother.

maybe you remember him?

well here's his face in case you forgot.  

yesterday i went home so he could open his mission call.

and guess what?

he opened it.

..

..

....

..

..

james will be serving in the chihuahua, mexico mission for the next two years.

he will begin his service on november 3.

i can't tell you how excited i am for him.

he's going to be a fantastic missionary.

and i think he'll have a pretty good time fitting in...

 

i'm happy for you brother.

i'm just sad that you're leaving.

also. the first words out of his mouth as soon as he read his departure date:

"i can go to the howl!!!!"

i just wanted to let you know that starting on thursday i'm going to be a little mia.

i'm headed to the motherland ya see.

well not really the motherland, seeing as how i'm not mexican...but still.

i'm leaving.

to mexico.

i'll be on a boat with my family.

minus my favorite keeree.

i don't like that she's not coming.

how on EARTH am i supposed to party without my other half?
