heart smiles.

nearly every time i call my mom,
our conversation goes as follows:

b: hi mama! how are you?
m: i'm great, mijita.
b: why are you so great today?
m: because i am alive. i am walking. my body is healthy.
i am breathing. the sun is shining.  i love my family.

when those conversations
are combined with ayley's
beautiful post about living life,
i can't help but express my gratitude
for this beautiful gift called life.

it's amazing.
we're able to make choices and follow dreams.
every day is a miracle.
every day is a gift.
every day is another chance to live.

life.is.beautiful.

in other news,
next week is thanksgiving break
and i get to spend nearly a week
with my family.
i can't wait.

I seriously agree. An acquaintance from high school just passed away and it has put a lot into perspective.

Thanksgiving is my favorite. The only thing on the schedule is eating and enjoying each other's company. We always have a ton of fun and it simply can not be beat!

This is such a great post. It's so true. I was just reading another blog about how her dad passed away out of nowhere. Perfect health and everything. It's so important to not take life or the people in it for granted.

On a happy note, I'm ecstatic about shoving my face and seeing my fam next week too!
