a place in life i miss.

friday night,
cory took me to see "the great gatsby."
leo almost made me cry five times.
i have always loved him.
i will always love him.
i can't even talk about how much i enjoyed this film.
we sat behind these two high school girls.
at one point in the movie,
homegirl turned to her friend and said,
"old sport, old sport, old sport. come ooon."
in the most sarcastic tone.
i wanted to pop her on the back of the head.
as we walked out of the theater,
i saw homegirl.
a braid so long it looked like a tail
growing out of her crooked cut-offs.
i glared at her profile as i heard her say,
"i almost fell asleep like five times.
it was so boring."
oh no she di'int.
with a dropped jaw i said,
"how do you fall asleep during 'the great gatsby'?"
but she didn't hear me.
she was too obsessed with her
mousy braid tail and acting cool.
this is the time in my life i miss.
the only time i wish i could revisit.
if i could,
i would stop her.
i would make her stare into my eyes,
straight into my gatsby loving soul
and say,
"how can you  almost fall asleep during 'the great gatsby'?
do you really think you're better than that?
you're no better than daisy.
you're a fool.
i hate you."
can someone please just go watch this movie
so i can talk to them about it?
please?
i'm seriously about to go titanic
on this shiz.

I love Leo. Have since what was it? 96? 97? when Titanic came out.

I remember not loving that book in high school, but of course I will go to the movie to see Mr. Dicaprio. And he'll probably change my whole opinion on the story. haha

I saw it, Brissa. And I loved it too. And my love for Leo only increased. It was amazingly well-done. And made me want to re-read the book all over again. Props to you for not punching mousy braid girl square in the face.

Obsessed obsessed obsessed!!! Like seriously this movie did something to my soul. Leo is unreal, and I was just in awe the entire time! I went to the midnight showing which was a huge mistake. The entire theater was filled with high school students who you could tell were either seeing the movie for extra credit, or to see how it ended. It is crazy the effect an audience can have on you, and how your outlook on the movie changes. I just wanted to scream at then all, and ask then if they realized the brilliance that was happening right in front of them! I definitely need to see it again but maybe in a grown up crowed. Gaha that would be nice.

Hahahaha you are my hero. Tell them gatsby haters! I'm waiting to see the movie until after finals (two weeks mama!), but it is one of my favorite books. CANNOT. WAIT. LONGER.

I'm dying to see the movie already. I think Leonardo Dicaprio is such a talented actor. I mean, just one of the very best! I just finished reading the book for the 2nd time and it was even better this time around. A friend of mine told me it's very close to the book, so I'm psyched for that. Too many films stray far from the books they're based on. It can be pretty frustrating!

I was SOOO worried after reading all the reviews that I would hate it, but my friends and I saw it on Friday and I still have CHILLS from it!!! LOVE IT. Rhapsody in Blue + Fireworks could not have been a better introduction for Leo.
Oh my. Leo. Leo. LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness. How is he 38 years old?!! He was SO fantastic. I would be his Daisy, but leave Tom and marry him in a heartbeat. That's all my friends and I kept saying. Carey was perfect. All of it was so beautiful, the soundtrack was killer, the story perfect...because it's F. Scott Fitzgerald, duh. One of my very all time favorite books and this was a fantastic, incredible adaptation (Sorry, Robert Redford, you were the only good part about the 1974 version and that's about it). So glad you enjoyed it!!!!

This is perfect. And completely justified. We should find her and chop off her ridiculous braid.

LEO IS ALL THERE IS IN LIFE. He is brilliant. Brilliant. And I haven't even seen this yet. Don't shoot me.

I hate girls that age. I wish you would've cut her braid off.

I want to see it!! I was all ready to go, and then some people told me it sucked, so I thought...hmmm maybe I'll redbox it. But my desire has been rekindled by this post! How could I doubt Leo? I will forever be ashamed of this.

I'm shocked Whitney knows who Leo is. Whitney doesn't know who anyone is!

I'M GOING TO SEE THIS NEXT WEEK AND THEN WE WILL DISCUSS.

How dare that girl. And how dare you bring up Titanic when you know I have an issue with large ships.

Oh Leo. 'Nuf said there.

And some kids did this during Harry Potter. But you best BELIEVE that I took control of that situation in a hurry.
