my name is brissa
and i'm a blogger,
not a baker.
while still delicious,
these "cake pops,"
were harder than i thought they'd be.
i almost cried as i dipped them in chocolate
and watched them fall apart in my hands.
i was ashamed to let my family eat them
because of their ugly exterior.
i ended up calling them "crap balls"
which turned out to be another fail.
every time my dad wanted one he'd say,
"brissa, could you grab me a crap ball?"
causing me to immediately regret the fitting, yet graphic title.
note to self:
next time, freeze the balls before the big chocolate dip
and buy the sticks.

I made these before! It really does make a world of a difference when you freeze them first. I put mine in the fridge so they would still be moist but yet firm. Granted, Mine still weren't in the shape of perfect little balls when I finished but they looked good enough to share!
Try again! haha :)
I think your crap balls probably tasted a ton better than some cake balls. Sometimes you've gotta sacrifice look for taste, no?
haha- your crap balls look good.
I would totally eat those, and I would take advantage of a fork to do so. Some may think it was due to the mess, but really it would be for optimal eating. Yummm...
my motto is always: the stomach has no eyes...cause the food i make always looks disgusting, every once and a while though it tastes pretty good!
we call those amaze-balls at our house! and they look about the same ;)
hahahaha! crap balls :) I want some!! I don't care how they look. IT'S CHOCOLATE.
I tried making cake balls once, and it was a disaster.
I tried making these awhile back too! Hahaha I love how you called them crap balls. Freezing them for awhile definitely helps. But, don't worry, because mine still looked like a mess anyways.
Check hers out!

I, personally, am a huge fan of "crap balls." I think we should start a baking blog together with that name.
ps- also, have you seen this http://gerijasonegbert.blogspot.com/2011/09/this-made-us-laugh-right-out-loud.html
fab.
{the same thing happened to me the first time i made these little turds. i'm glad i'm not alone!}
jared and i totally bought the babycakes cake pop maker last week and have used it about 3 times a day every day since. haha, you should totally get one. it was only 20 bucks and i'm the biggesttttt fan. seriously. we've put everything in that puppy from muffin mix to donuts. mmm.
recipe??
HAHAH!! i can actually hear you now.. squealing out of embarrassment every time your dad would say crap ball.. oh brissa briss. i love you!
can i just say the crap balls tasted better than any crap balls i have ever tasted! they were yummy princess
Sometimes [strike that, most of the time,] I do things like this intentionally. Then, people don't have high expectations for the taste and I can have them all to myself. So really, you're a genius.
hey at least you made them my dear! i have yet to tackle the cake ball recipes out there. i think i may just stick to my forte. cupcakes.
Hahaha. CRAP BALLS! That might be my new expletive.
I bet they tasted great though...and not at all like real crap.
I, too, have tried to make cake pops, and they NEVER look the way the proffesionals make them. Sigh. I even freeze mine and they still turn out really ugly.
hahaha crap balls :)
I tried the cake pops too and they failed epically! Like epically seriously. And thats how I felt too, my poor mother on mother's day swallowed one down for me.
these look just like the cake balls i tried to make once. they were delicious, but looked so much like poop no one would eat them but me. fail.
