this insomnia thing is getting out of control.

when i can't sleep i like to pass the time 

by writing messages

on the walls of our bathtub.

in the beginning,

cory and i had a cute

time traveler's wife-esque dialogue.

i'd write something he'd find before he left for work

and he'd write something i'd find when i woke up. 

i had a particularly rough night last week.

i tossed and turned.

i adjusted, i twisted, i plumped pillows,

i beat my high score on tetris.

nothing.

with nothing left to do,

i went to the bathroom.

i sat on the edge of the tub 

and looked at my blank canvas.

once i started,

i couldn't stop.

when cory got back from work that day,

i asked him what he thought about my "art."

he looked at me and said,

"brissa,

it went from being cute and sweet 

to 'a beautiful mind'. 

i opened up the shower curtain

and got a little scared.

i literally thought you were a crazy person."

moral of the story:

bathtub messages are only cute

when done in moderation

and don't include drawings titled, 

"sad running man."
