hot stuff

when i was a child and i watched shows about volcanoes i wasn't scared like most children.
i loved the glowing color of the flowing lava.
i wanted to touch both the bright, rushing lava as well the darker, cooling lava
i was curious as to the texture of the different stages.
i understand that volcanoes kill and destroy.
but i can't help to think they're magnificent.
i wish i could touch the lava without burning my hand off.

I've been afraid of volcanoes my whole life...so I don't really comprehend this post. That's okay.

So I read your blog. Hope that doesn't creep you out.

Also, one summer I got to hike an active volcano in Guatemala and it looked just like that bottom picture and it was HOT. And way cool. And like you, I wanted to touch it so badly. But I did not. Our guide stuck a stick into it and flames burst out. That was cool.
